Kelly White, the heart and hands behind Murrelet Herb Farm, finds her inspiration in both the forest and the garden. After a decade of farming vegetables she felt called to pivot to herbs. In early 2024, Kelly purchased the Communitea brand, formerly owned by North Fork 53, with the intention to continue making great teas under the new farm name Murrelet. Guided by a deep love of the outdoors and her community, Kelly works to bring quality of flavor and reverence for nature into every cup of tea you drink.

Murrelet Herb Farm sits nestled in between the Pacific Ocean and Coast Range Mountains of Oregon. It’s a landscape that is both rugged and abundant. It’s here on a humble 2-acres that we lovingly grow herbs for our tea blends. We focus on growing plants that need little in the way of fertilizer and water and utilize both mulch and dry farming techniques (no irrigation) in all of our field beds. After establishing our growing space, we practice no-till farming to minimize our impact on soil health. Lastly, we are always looking for places to tuck native plants in around the farm - to acknowledge our shared existence in the space with the life around us.

At Murrelet Herb Farm, our herbs are grown and sourced with care, honoring the people and planet around us with every decision we make, from seed to tea packaging. We prioritize growing herbs that require low inputs, reduce soil disturbance, and conserve water. While the farm produces many of the herbs for our teas, any ingredients not grown on-site are sourced as ethically and sustainably as possible. We believe you will see and taste the difference. There is an entire world in a single cup of tea.
